The lovely village of Teffont Magna is having a Christmas Art Trail again this year where you will find plenty of top quality handcrafted gifts for sale as well as more serious artworks. I have been knitting for months in preparation for this event! My vintage style knitted items will be in Alison Pitcairn beautiful thatched cottage where you will also find handmade Christmas decoration and a wide choice of other handmade items. The Art Trail will be held from Friday 12 December to Sunday 14 December. Alison also provide delicious food and drinks.
The Christmas Fairs are approaching with lightning speed and I am so busy preparing my stock and making decorations that I forgot all about my blog!
I am very much looking forward to the first one which is the Vintage Bazaar in Devizes on Saturday 29th November at the Corn Exchange in the Market Place from 9.30 until 3.30. It is a lovely Fair and I highly recommend it especially if you love textiles and genuine unusual vintage items.
The second one is in Salisbury where I live. The council has recently started running Vintage Fairs and they have proved very popular. It will be next to the Christmas Market, so you could do most of your Christmas shopping in one go! It will be in the Guildhall in the Market Place on Sunday 7 December from 10 to 4. It is well run and very friendly.
The next outdoor Fair in front of the Guildhall in Salisbury is happening very soon, I have had plenty of time to buy unusual lovely things in the last few months. Some of them during my trip to France in June but most of them from various sources since. If the weather is good I shall be bringing more textile as there was plenty of interest at the last Fair. Please come if you can as this is a new Market which will become better and better if it is well attended. I have visions of it becoming almost as good as Frome's wonderful independent Market!
There will be another Fair in front of the Guidhall on 27th of June and I have been busy preparing for it as usual. The other two Fairs I have attended there have been very good with plenty of interesting stalls and a nice atmosphere, I am hoping that the weather will be better this time though as the heavy showers made things difficult for us last March! I am including a few pictures of my new stock below, but I also hope to bring back a few things from my holiday in the south of France.
I am looking forward to the Fair on Friday and hoping that the weather is kind to us as it will be outdoors in front of the Guildhall. I have lots of lovely new things to sell and I will also be bringing some vintage clothing as there will be plenty of room.
